Our summer venue: The Dance Pavilion
Uppsala Dance Pavilion (Danspaviljongen) is located only 15 minutes walk from Uppsala Central Station, in the city park (Stadsträdgården), next to Studenternas Arena.
West Coast Swing:
Smooth, modern, creative
West Coast Swing (WCS) is a modern partner dance that is rapidly growing in popularity and increasingly visible on social media. It can be danced to many genres, currently often to modern pop music, and is constantly evolving. With its smooth character and emphasis on improvisation, it adapts naturally to the style and tempo of whatever is playing — which means it can look very different from one song to the next.

A dynamic WCS community
The idea behind West Coast Swing Uppsala is to maintain and expand the WCS community in Uppsala, acting as a hub for WCS activities in Uppsala and occasionally organising events of our own.
The main organiser of WCS courses and social dances in Uppsala is Victor Evelina West Coast Swing (VEWCS). As a complement, WCS Uppsala arranges a number of social dances outdoors at Danspaviljongen during summer.
The WCS Uppsala core team is Björn, Caroline, Karin, Kjell and Sofia — but many more are involved in building this growing community.
